A Better World Poem by Deepak Calyampoondi

A Better World

The silence when you shut your eyes,
Is your prayer to the unknown wise,
You need no words to talk to them,
For they know your heart's within.

With your prayer you build a shrine,
Within your mind a new sun does shine,
You prostrate to the ever noble and true,
And your wishes are granted too.

It's from the ruins emerges a light,
Our past mistakes make us so wise,
Your falls are the blessings of this life,
You thus learn the lessons and from strife.

Life is a staircase you learn to climb,
Each step taken is towards a smile,
You reach the top and find your heaven,
For you have all your sins forgiven.

Your mind is that temple you have intact,
Your deeds are the blessings infact,
For through your actions you change the world,
And your smile transports people to a better world.

Wonderful optimism expressed in these fluent verses. I agree very much with the message. Every small act of kindness, every smile is a generator of many more and we are slowly but exponentially increasing this wave of smiles and kindenss. The world becomes better. Once we reach the sharp deflection point ofthe exponential curve A true kindness revolution will be visible, audible, sensible.for all to see, hear and feel.
