A Bank Poem by Nida Sofi

A Bank

Rating: 5.0

One day along with my grandfather i went into a big building
Had never been to a place where a man holding a toy gun welcomes you,
Though children are always welcomed with a candy
But I let it go wanting to explore more inside,
My grandfather with trembling hands took out a little book
Much little than my school notebook,
As we entered a big hall I was amazed to see so many people
All with a hurry and same books as my grandfather had,
I thought it is grandpa's school for a moment
The walls were plain, the ambiance was simple
The noise was loud, mixed was crowd,
My grandfather passed his tiny book to a lady sitting on chair
She greeted him nicely and made us sit,
She had a big computer on which she was seeing something
I tried to peep in to it but was hold back by grandpa,
She observed my keen into her stuff and gave me a smile
I was glad that someone at least gave me some interest,
She put her hand in her bag and took out a candy
I was happy that finally my motive got fulfilled,
I took it with a wide smile and held it firmly in my hands
Next moment i saw huge money coming in grandpa, s hands,
I was startled to see that in exchange of tiny book
He was given so much money,
And i thought to my self that next time i come here
I will get along my school notebook.
