Dear sweet guardian angel of mine
this prayer I make to you tonight
from now on leave thou my side
& spread thy wings over the dear heart of mine
shield him as he goes about his day
guide his feet if they falter and sway
with gentle hands hold him up high
before his feet strike stone or assail
every little disappointment whisk away
every tear, every sigh cast thou away
watch every thought that intimidates
with thy mighty power oust them far away
gather only peace and joy his way.
O sweet guardian angel of mine
I pray, do leave my side tonight
and go to the dear heart of mine
bless, watch and guard over that dear heart
today and always everyday
