Already the vultures are circling
over the corpse of your relationship
waiting to swoop down in their dozens
and feast on the cooling remains

They will fight over each juicy detail
each wanting to be getting the best
occasionally regurgitating half-truths and lies
for everyone else to swallow

Most of them will leave the bones
after picking clean all they can
leaving the skeleton behind for other parasites
so they can finish what was started

Don't let anyone drive your love into the desert
unless you're prepared you won't survive
already the vultures are circling overhead
to feast on the corpse of your relationship
