667. Will Never Be Your Pawn Again Poem by Jaden Knight

667. Will Never Be Your Pawn Again

You tried to sacrifice me in too many pointless gambits
when there was never any need to do so
you never gained in the resulting moves
as no one ever wanted to take it

You were universally hated across the board
even by your trusted queen
can't sit easy on your throne
as even your allies seek to depose you

The rooks are circling overhead
as your opponents sit idly by
they watch the collapse of all your games
without even having to raise a blade

You tried to sacrifice me in too many pointless gambits
when there was never any need to do so
you have check mated yourself with too many poor moves
and I will never be your pawn again

Fine statement of defiance, Aries, handled well with the sustained chess metaphor. It lends itself to being read on different levels (e.g. political and personal) . Nicely done.
