.5. I Tried A Little Poem by David Threadgold

.5. I Tried A Little

I tried a little yoga
That made me twist and turn
Positions that look awkward
To make my muscles burn

I tried a little judo
To help me with my throwing
I threw myself against a wall
With bruises now still showing

I tried a little jogging
It should have made me fitter?
Joining in a paper chase
But only collecting litter

I tried a little boxing
With many hefty blows
The trainer said don’t worry lad
It’s just the way it goes

I tried a little treatment
My doctor did a test
He said a man of eighty-five
Should try a little rest
