5: 46 Poem by Calista Urbaniak

I went to go make it right
The wind blew in a coincidental way
As if to say he was right
to draw the comparison to air
And the I love you came in the form of something that kills you slowly
My gift
A wild rose and a tulip leaf mark the day
A scheduled time
For an outlined life
I a changed mind
words glided with integrity
3 to 4 hours in memory
The modesty of an oath solidified in the woods
And that moment I think you trusted me
It's a promise I will keep
As I read
First it was for you
With a window rolled down
And the coincidence of the wind happened again
Stripping away the artificial sweeteners
Leaving a space for the green to form
