You thought that I am shallow
that you could paddle easily
then you nearly drowned yourself
in my hidden depths
You thought that I am blind
that I do not notice what truly goes on
then you saw a fragment of what I can see
and instantly became jealous of my sight
You told me that I looked like I'm stupid
that I didn't know enough for you
but when you heard me speak
you were ashamed of your own meagre knowledge
You liked to think I do not feel
that my scars are just for show
then you heard my back story
and even you could see my pain
Hopefully you have seen a way
that this is a lesson you'll learn to heart
next time you will think before you open your mouth
that you will try to understand before you judge
