2,000 Tonnes Of Garbage Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

2,000 Tonnes Of Garbage

Achimota and Abokobi! !
Landfill Sites,
Hit it! !
Sit,
Pit;
2,000 tonnes of garbage generated everyday!
Like the 15-Acre pit at Sonitra, Weija.

Tones, tonnes!
Zones,
Stones,
Landfill Sites! !
In Accra,
Pump, dump!
Contractors;
Drow,
Drowsiness,
Row,
Throw,
Slow,
Low,
Crow! ! !
Disaffection,
A place of dump waste.

Contemplating!
To Safeguard the Health of the People around;
Achimota and Abokobi!
With prolonged exposure.

Sage, age, wage!
To set the stage;
Seeing the passage of life in my
land,
Problems! !
Prolonged exposure,
Story, Respiratory!
Fatigue,
Clue, hue, due, glue, blue!
Not to argue;
Facing the ways of the people.

To observe,
To examine,
To survey! !
Achimota and Abokobi in Accra;
Landfill Sites;
2,000 tonnes of garbage generated everyday.
