We
are just
an animal species...
Those who have the food
are those who are at the top
and I
must wait
my turn.
I
must wait for everything.
I've myself to prove
or by the pack
be removed.
Outside the den we all are equals
fighting for the scraps to survive.
And I am only as strong as my sinews,
have only the thickness of my hide.
Yet I will show you the sharpness of my teeth
I will show YOU where to hide
no longer cowering at your feet,
I
have human
pride.
