സെഡോണ - ദൈവഭൂമി
ശോണഗിരികള്‍തന്‍ നാടേ! സെഡോണേ!
ലോകാതീതസൗന്ദര്യ സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗീയ ഭൂവേ!
അരിസോണതന്‍ ഫാലമദ്ധ്യേ
പൂവിടും സിന്ദൂരതാരേ!
നിന്റെ വര്‍ത്തുള നിമ്നോന്നതങ്ങളില്‍
മുങ്ങിയും പൊങ്ങിയും ലീനനായ് മേയുന്ന
സൗവര്‍ണ്ണ സൂര്യനെപ്പോലെ
എന്നെ നീ മത്തനാക്കുന്നു
വശീകരിച്ചാര്‍ത്തനാക്കുന്നു
ആദിയുഗങ്ങളിലെന്നോ
താരാപഥങ്ങളിലൂടെ
വിശ്വദൗത്യങ്ങള്‍തന്‍ ഭാണ്ഡങ്ങളും പേറി
ബ്രഹ്മാണ്ഡവിസ്തൃതി താണ്ടി
വിശ്വാടനോത്സുകശില്പിസഞ്ചാരികള്‍
പാതിവഴിയിലപൂര്‍ണ്ണമായ് നിര്‍ത്തിയ
പണിതീരാ ദേവരൂപങ്ങളാവാം
നിന്റെ ഗിരികള്‍ സെഡോണേ!
ചെമ്പന്‍ മലകള്‍ സെഡോണേ!
വീണ്ടുമവര്‍ തിരിച്ചെത്തുമോ ഭാവിയില്‍
കയ്യിലുളികളും പേറി
ഈ ശില്‍പങ്ങള്‍ പൂര്‍ണ്ണമാക്കീടാന്‍?
ഈ അത്ഭുതമുദ്ബുദ്ധമാക്കാന്‍?
ഋതുഭേദമേന്യേ ഭക്തിപുരസ്സരം
മേഘങ്ങളഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു നില്‍ക്കുമ്പോള്‍
കാറ്റുകളീദേവവദനനിരകളെ
ഒപ്പിത്തുവര്‍ത്തി മിനുക്കിത്തുടക്കുമ്പോള്‍
പൂവിട്ട് മഞ്ഞയുടുത്ത് കുനിയുന്ന
ഭക്തരാം പച്ചവൃക്ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു*മേലെ
മൂളുന്ന തേന്‍പക്ഷിവൃന്ദങ്ങള്‍ സ്തുതിപാടി
പക്ഷമടിച്ചു തൊഴുതുനിന്നീടവെ
കാട്ടുദൈവങ്ങളെത്തേടി അപ്പാച്ചേകള്‍**
ആര്‍ത്തുവിളിച്ചു മലകളിറങ്ങുന്ന
കുതിരക്കുളമ്പടിനാദം ശ്രവിക്കുവാന്‍
ഭൂര്‍ജ്ജമരങ്ങളശോകങ്ങള്‍ കാട്ടത്തികള്‍
ശാന്തമിളകാതെ കാതോര്‍ത്തു നില്‍ക്കവെ
പണ്ടേ മറഞ്ഞൊരാ ശില്പശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞരെ
വീണ്ടും വരുവാന്‍ വിളിച്ചാര്‍ത്തുപാടിയും തേങ്ങിയും
കാട്ടുപൊന്തക്കുള്ളില്ലേതോ മരുക്കുയില്‍
തീവ്രമലിഞ്ഞുതീരുന്നോരു സന്ധ്യയില്‍
നിന്റെ വശ്യത്തിന്നടിമ സെഡോണേ ഞാന്‍
നീയാണ് സത്യത്തില്‍ ദൈവഭൂമി
വേറേത് ദേശങ്ങള്‍ കാഴ്ചവെക്കാന്‍
നിന്റെ ശോണാചലരാഗഭംഗി?
അജ്ഞാതരാം പെരുന്തച്ചന്മാരെ
ആരാണെവിടാണൊളിച്ചിരിപ്പു?
അതിവേഗം ഉളിയുമായോടിയെത്തിന്‍
ഇവിടെയീ ആനന്ദസാന്ദ്രഭൂവില്‍
ഭാവിദൈവങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് രൂപം നല്കാന്‍
ഞങ്ങടെയമ്പലം പൂര്‍ണ്ണമാക്കാന്‍

I can't find the reply tab under your comment. My page is playing tricks from morning. It was only now I could access it. So, I am typing what I have to say as a reader-comment. I am flattered, nay flabbergasted (dunno if there is such a word in English language; an old acquaintance of mine in old Bombay used to mouth that verb often long ago) and floored by your praise and, Valsaji, please give me time to raise my head which is in prostration before you, so that I can rein my poetic ego before it goes wild in exultation. I have just posted another poem Silk Routes, which has particular relevance to your city, Kochi. The place referred to therein is the famous Seematti and the lady squatting on the foreground in the picture is none other than Mrs. Beenan Kannan, the owner of the place. I don't think she will take kindly to me for siding with her sales girls with my poetic sentimentality. Afterall, she is a dynamic business woman.
