All joys, common and rife?

Let me kiss his lips – the gate to infinity.
Can’t you also see this natural affinity,
Between two vital forces, two minds?
Get me back my other half, these two bind.

Let us be two, you and I, when we talk
On diverse issues; or listen to a song,
Or when we (hope one day) go for a walk,
If in the woods, I usually skip along.

That minute we’re born,
If there is no love to hold us,
Feed us, and put us asleep,
What sort of children
...

Can a glance linking two pairs of eyes
Be as a kiss recognized?
Is it possible to proclaim love though
It was never actualized?

I forgive you the look,
That caught me in the web.
Just one that got me at hook.
One look was enough to ebb.

He left! Never to return. And I’m but a dim
Memory, another on pile, looking nicely prim.
