Rites, rituals, ceremonies,
Prayers, candles, prayers, invocations,
Laws, dogmas, yokes, bale,
Charges, rules, principles, obligations.
...
Night is coming and already hear the fireworks;
Children are happy,
But it is a weak happiness,
The bliss of ignorance.
...
No one wants to look in the eyes.
Eye contact is to make contact.
No one wants to make contact.
Look in the eyes is to see the soul.

Human Being
Look with mercy,
Reaching out,
Quench thirst,
Satisfy the hunger,
Provide shelter,
Assist orphans and widows,
Visit the sick,
Visit the prisoner,
Heal the wounds of the injured,
Break down social barriers,
Transpose the walls of religious separation,
Destroy the racial divide,
Walk two miles,
Throw him the cover.
Human being,
Be brother,
Follow peace with all men,
Promote peace,
Give the hands,
Being close to each other,
Be close to God.

Osiel, if you want, you can post your poem ''Flowers'' on PH, also. Both English and Portuguese versions, of course. They will be published in the ebook ''POETRY AGAINST TERROR'', but being it a free ebook (when published at Smashwords) , there will be no problem with posting poems of the collection. Ciao
