Olivia Teaylor Poems

She was her mother, but yet she wasn't,
She did not birth her from the womb;
But she had done everything else for her,
From the time she was born she had been there;
...

I finally opened myself up to someone,
Who I thought was ultra-mega special,
But unfortunately was nothing but a liar.
...

It is not normal when you hear a child say
That their best friend is their grandmother.
You would always think that their best friend
Would be some little kid from down the street.
...

Voices, there are so many in this world,
No two voices are the same
There every where i hear them in my head, in my sleep,
And i have to deal with them when I'm awake.
...

I should be thankful, shouldn't I?
Well, I try to anyways,
but I just can't make myself be thankful,
It's kinda hard when you do not have anything to
...

Golden, brown, and red leaves,
falling from beautiful, big, Autumn trees,
falling down all around,
little kids giggling, and running about.
...

The stuff your voice does to me.
Oh, how it gives me chills.
It makes me shiver, yet it warms my insides.
I use to love the warmth in your voice, it use to make me feel safe.
...

You told me that you loved me and that I was your everything, and now you're saying I'm nothing.
And this hurts more than words can ever describe.
That was six years of my life, that just got up and walked away without saying good-bye.

A True Mother

She was her mother, but yet she wasn't,
She did not birth her from the womb;
But she had done everything else for her,
From the time she was born she had been there;
Even when the going got tough,
She still stood by her side when nobody else would;
And that little girl can still say to this day,
That her mother, that wasn't her mother,
Was still there standing by her side
And she was not wavering in her stance,
Not even a centimeter;
Now isn't that a true mother?
