Aunt Rita was a special person
The most important in my life
Until she started drinking

It began when Death took Josh
Now the sun feels cold

Fewer phone calls
Then none at all
She calls again but is nasty

It’s like she is enslaved
The alcohol eating away at her
Unwilling to lose a victim

We visit at the hospital
She looks horrible
All yellow

I get upset more often
My brother does not understand
