i am 14 yrs old, from canada. when i was only 12 i became into poetry alot more then before. when i was 13 i started writing it for school and no it has become one of my hobbies to do. My teacher in grade 8 told me to send in one of my poems to a book and see if it would get published and it did. it was my 'If I Was A Boy' poems)

If I Was A Boy

As I gaze into the mirror
I find myself looking
staring,
wondering
why this is happening
to me.
I am not a little boy
that one played with toy cars,
or pretend I
was a superhero.
I am not the little boy who
wanted to start school
that played with my dad
or played in the mud.
Still...
I don’t notice
my feeling,
my growing,
and my talking.
I’m a young man
I can feel it
still...
I am the one playing with toy cars
pretend I am a superhero,
and playing with my dad.
