Tell me about love William! How will it shine
In the hearts of those who wear shrouds
And wait in lines to reach the guillotine,
In the hearts of those who were forced

I shall be silent and hold my tongue,
My lips. I shall be the product of hate.
For what you think is right but is wrong
I’m sure. For what you say is my fate.

To smile is to dream and to dream is a crime
For a band of Brothers whose bodies, to guns’
Bullets, are shelters. In a city has passed its prime

Guillotine Of Love

Tell me about love William! How will it shine
In the hearts of those who wear shrouds
And wait in lines to reach the guillotine,
In the hearts of those who were forced
To bow to death with no bloods on their hands?
How can I, William, how can I write
About love when I see orphans are banned
From a gentle kiss, when I see them in nights
Wandering around carrying empty torn sacks
To find scraps and back to houses where roofs
Are only seen in worm dreams. I must ask,
How will love remove what destine proves?
Until that day, until the time when love is no crime,
Love has no place in my poems until grief past its prime.
