Marguerite Atkins Poems

Worship is a multi-faceted diamond
Turned this way and turned that to catch the sun.

Kneeling now in quiet adoration
...

Do the birds answer Thy call-Is that their melody?
Is the trilling and the billing all for Thee?

Are the clouds that sail above, floating so fast and free,
...

Make me this day, Lord, wholly Thine, Make me Thy instrument
But waiting to receive the song--Thy song of Love, when sent.

Oh, I would be the waters clear, on river bed, so still
...

O God, bless this Thy faithful servant
in his time of need
Be Thou his health. Be Thou his strength
And be to him the sight which is no longer his.

Worship

Worship is a multi-faceted diamond
Turned this way and turned that to catch the sun.

Kneeling now in quiet adoration
Or springing up in ecstasy begun!

Sometimes worship can be lowly serving,
Doing unto others as unto Him--

A multitude of duties set before us--
A life of discipline and not of whim.

Then there are times when suffering is our worship,
Acquiescing in His will just for today. . .

Whatever way He offers us to worship,
Accepting it in love-Oh, then we pray!
