I've put so much of myself
Into people and places
Places I had to leave
People who've left me
...
To see a tree against moonlight
Stand on a mountain far away
Take a walk under the night
Let yourself be led astray
...
Through streets of grey
Walk souls made of clay
The Lord claims them all
Mere prizes on his wall
...
So beautifully cruel
A beacon without light
So perfect that it hurts
It could illume my entire world
...
Where the wind bashes my face
And the trees dance with grace
Where red and yellow taints the sky
In the sun`s sweet goodbye
...
Among the crisscrossing hills of life
Are running rivers, carrying time
Downwards, it turns and falls
...
He draws maps of made-up lands
Kings and Queens are born from his hands
Forests and lakes at the tip of his quill
In that world, all is bound to his will
...
English is not my first, but undoubtedly my favorite language. I learned English by myself as a kid, and soon it became my favorite language in which to think serious thoughts and to write. Writing is my way of making decisions and talking to my deepest self. Eventually, when inspiration is on the rise, some poems come out of it. I enjoy writing very different poems, with different writing and edition processes and different aims. Some are written while taking a walk, others while I sit concentrated, and some just come to me when I lie down to sleep. I see beauty in many things, and I wish I knew how to paint the landscapes I dream of. Sometimes, I can spend hours looking out of an window. Writing is just my way of trying to paint the feelings I have. My biggest goal is to one day paint them exactly as I see, manage to express that what I feel, that what I can almost touch, but that what for now is lost within the boundaries of words.)
Did You Ever?
I've put so much of myself
Into people and places
Places I had to leave
People who've left me
Did you ever feel like you forgot,
Forgot who you are?
Lost yourself into promises of love
Into mansions built to fall
Your dream about how it was going to be
The thing that makes life worth living
Did you ever forget where it is?
Did you ever find it again?
Did you ever give more than you had,
Believe in more than was possible,
Love with your entire heart?
Did you ever get it back?
