Raising The Bar

candy and chloroform,
toes pointing,
pommels, rings, horses,
raising the bar.

philadelphia, seoul,
london. beijing,
rings on the fingers,
rings in the air.

on, dancer, dash,
prance, swing, flip,
lycra, finesse, pulses
pounding, breaking.

mixed messages so,
solo is best, low sweet
team spirit, bend
over applause.

chicken hatching from
his shell, locker room
drivel, innuendo,
transformative.

the last breakfast,
supper, cereal pride,
purple and periwinkle
surface front.

outsource soul,
benedictive heart,
father's hug,
world springboard.

out choosing.
