Chasing Rainbows In Your Mind

My partner asked me the other day
While I was looking at the sky
Just what I was looking for
Watching clouds drifting by
I replied to him, ' I am chasing rainbows'
Let me try to explain,
That you cannot know a rainbow
Until you have felt the driving rain.
Although life has it's ups and downs
I still have the ability to see
The good in things that first seem bad
And to cherish and love the closest to me
So If you are looking for a special place
A rainbow you must find
The beauty is In its creation
The rainbows is in your mind
I will forever search for rainbows
In each new face I see
In every friend I have
And each new friend to be
I know somewhere beyond life's struggles
There Is a place we all can find
To rest a while and reflect
So don't stop chasing rainbows in your mind
