overeager
too ready for friends
too ready for anything
but also poor

with cold hands
and empty pockets
i will be
tonight
your laughingstock

a liar
a cheater
an underachiever
but for 1 thing
i will walk

walk

in the cold
for the one thing that will
warm me
on that long way home

no go tonight?
nothing?
nothing at all?

so i walked for
nothing?

sorry

and that feeling
you know that one
you probably dont feel it as much as i
is rising from my toes
to my stomach
to my nose

stupid

so i pretend to be high
pretend to have somewhere
to go
something to do
but we all know i am not fooling you

i should have stayed home

but at least i have cigarettes
