Laura Russell Poems

I will stand forever firm
Upon two feet, upon ground
In praise of Lady Moon,
Sister of Mother Earth
...

I find it rather amusing that I am here
writing my rage at you
whilst she is in her room talking
on the phone to you
...

You gave me blood roses
Don't you deny,
Back when my heart was a rose
not an eye.
...

You are eldery
lined and drooping,
A soul heavy
with the wisdom of lifetimes.
...

5.

A bee.
Why should I be afraid of a thing so little
as a bee?
Against my window it struggles for the freedom
...

[I sit down and remind myself of you]

The roses on the heater smell delicious
But their colour is not as obvious,
...

Arthritic wrist teeters atop bone
Limp as a wet tongue
Heavy and ready to fall.
Like a suicide the hand breaks
...

I will not be cruel
unless you refuse to stay.

Like the senses of a serpent
...

White wings come
and pull me out
and pick me up
and take me apart.
...

My sword drips ink onto pages
like blood from a fresh wound
Cascading in cyclones
over virgin white and English rose,
...

One day I will be ash on the wind
Powdered death and life fragments,
My body will again become confetti
to be sprinkled over my funeral day.
...

12.

Eyes filled with blue often wish
For a touch of brown
To take the edge from purity
As they sparkle so startlingly
...

'Goodnight sweet Day', I have to say
As you pass me by without delay
And the stars in your hair wink at cold night
You push me on to dreamless delight.
...

The bruises from your bites are still etched into my legs from friday night
Carved into my meaty thighs like sketches.

Your mouth closes around mine as we enter worlds of delights
...

In drifts in fleeting flight
He moves from my side
To a realm out of sight,
And like a rushing tide
...

Married to the world
Anger echoes circular
Without end
Like a ring.
...

Anti-human voices boomed in the tunnel
in the street, under the shelter of steel
Carnage dropped from the air into silence
and all became still at England's heart.
...

Your sleepy ocean-eyes
Like softly burning stars
Smiled through your eyelids
Into my flashing sighs.
...

A lost man walked with me
The road I had misplaced,
He taught me proper walking
With strong boats
...

20.

The midnight Moon weaves delicately through a tapestry of night
Illuminating shadows and strangers
Silhoetting wolves and angels.
Pearly lunar cords fall into gentle night in succession
...

The Best Poem Of Laura Russell

Bow To The Moon

I will stand forever firm
Upon two feet, upon ground
In praise of Lady Moon,
Sister of Mother Earth
Illumination.

I will forever raise my arms
Towards the sky
In praise of Lady Moon,
The silver One
Hope.

I will chant forever Her names
My voice full of joy
In praise of Lady Moon,
The radiant One
Inspiration.

I will live forever in Her light
Soaking my core with truth
In praise of Lady Moon,
The awe of my eyes
The secrets of my soul.
