If I speak in metaphors and similes
I could make it seem that you're in love with me
but I know the truth though it's hard to admit
it makes me feel low...I just feel like shit
now you're with another...you moved on just fine
I'm lost in a crowd...guns going off in my mind
can't sleep at night...can't let you go
I'm like a beggar in winter, homeless and cold
can't meet my needs when I do not care
just leave me alone as I sit and stare

at a world void of meaning
dull colors abound
that rainbow's washed out
it falls to the ground
a beautiful spectrum of blacks and greys
expressionless faces I pass on my way
to nowhere, to nowhere

Can you provide meaning to a post modern dick
please lay it on me and lay it on thick
she was the reason that I'd get out of bed
she provided the color to the thoughts in my head
now that she's gone I do not care
just leave me alone as I sit and stare
