Ireland Sanguine

See her now post-coitus
With that languid look,
Her lover so loquacious
Offers her a cigarette butt,

His haughty grin spells satisfaction,
His blasé limbs now lame and limp,
His lady left to speculate
The selfish act was anachronism.

Him being a foreign established guest
She will not hurt his continental pride,
Nor pressurise his snug comport
To polish off her final suffice.

No, just offer inoffensive platitudes
On a platter of homely hospitality,
Cause Irish eyes are smiling
When “benefactors” are beguiling.
