Julius Saidu Poems

Faint voices
Quiet talks
Men in shadows of fear
De remains of wars
...

I still recall the childhood plays in some African days
Where de sun play with the children
Moon sings with us at night
Tales at the door of moonlight
...

Flowers slowly fade,
The sun slowly goes down
Darkness kills the light slowly……..so it is
Her love for me fades slowly,
...

Like a fake cloud that promises an unfelling rain
So she promised me love
Saying now she has forgotten about such vow
Oh love, I wish you were a river to keep on flowing without stop
...

We the sand of the sea shore
Walking like zombies
Life is short and dead is closer
We walk on empty ground with hallow souls
...

DREAMS, DEAD, GHOST STORIES
Night brings forth dreams
Dream told stories
Stories about dead
...

They hunt more
More scary than deer devil
Those moments with sorry now
They are never satisfied
...

I've learned from the distance
Wind shadows
Range from the east
Like water drops
...

Her stories I know
How she sweeps the flowers
With her scent
Her breeze, blows dead thorns fresh
...

I dream of times when my name lingers in the tongues of men, staying long like the sky in its empty space
I dream of times when I be called among the great of history, staying and living old with time in its endless journey
I dream of a world where its people clap echoes of peace and dances in the fields of unity. Smiling to truth of oneness; embracing the fear of the creator
I dream of a society that boast of men of mildness', product of greatness, yields of waken love
...

She goes by immoral struggle;
Prostitute
He goes by unjustified vengeance;
Villain
...

If it comes, why I say nay?
Fates will be tilt to fill
The breeze will blow and sway
When I reached the other realm
...

When the earth is scorch with dryness
The sky is blamed
When the flowers wither……
the seasons' are blamed
...

This field turns grey
As time rust; old in his hut
My deeds alone and stamped
It's all come to end
...

Grow up brother and take a firm stand,
Sway no more twas wheat in the field,
Anarchy is loose
The future is washing away.
...

As leafs in the wind
coaxing the debris of time
blowing and fading my troubles
little pinching sounds i hear
...

At the far end of my delusions
Coax readings
In my clouded facial stream
I am to raise a quill
...

Our food is left undone
Our wheat un-thresh
Our heroes have gone to sleep
Our fathers are losing their sanity in the liquor store

Songs Of Peace

Faint voices
Quiet talks
Men in shadows of fear
De remains of wars
Smoke and blood
Here and there
Earth's tired even
Harboring the dreadful deeds

Come nearer to end
Quieting the sounds that trembles the children
Blunt the spears
Burn the violence
Spit the hate
Embrace the love
Come nearer to end I say
End man's troubles

Leave now your shed
Not for dead but for dance
Come nearer to begin
The sounding drums are here
Fear not the sounds
Here sounds of peace
Chills, chills songs of peace
Come nearer to begin I say

Here we are
In green fields of new rain
Burying guns with roses
Shaking hands with hearts
I see this possible
Come nearer my brother; my brother
Dance with me new songs of peace
Will make it possible
