So tonight I will toast at your funeral.
Because we knew this wouldn’t end well.
Lately I’ve began to look and see.
That we are lost in our own history.

Peace for the love that only life can show
never to be destroyed by earth, wind, fire, or snow
to live life upon an unknown cost
yet as we live we seek yet we are lost
...

There is a flag on the door, and joy left on the floor,
A woman sobs all day long crying to the tune of an old song

A voice cries “Where is he, Where is he? ”

I’m sorry it had to end this way,
I’m sure you wanted it to go on
Yet, we still grow and are forced to say
“good bye” it’s the worst part of this our song.

Alone in my room I hear whispers of my own fears,
These echoes of my past that bring me to tears.
A knife, I hold in my hand can make these leave me,
Is it so much to ask to just forget I know the sharp edge.

Funeral

So tonight I will toast at your funeral.
Because we knew this wouldn’t end well.
Lately I’ve began to look and see.
That we are lost in our own history.

Times will change and lives will spend
Harvests will come and wounds shall mend
Hearts will blaze with the past no more,
We’ll seek the future, but it wont come

I ask for peace yet receive none,
And now the present has come undone
Now time has shown itself to be a demon that’s cursed
And yet we know that we still haven’t seen the worst.

I walked along and couldn’t tell
That my sorrow dies with every word.

Truthfully is say no more, and with a smile I toast….at your funeral.
