Joeseph Belcher Poems

The sinner walks a Shadowed path
washed in tears of pain and hate
leaning on his broken staff
cursing God for his sorrowed fate
...

To follow the restless wave, said the wandering soul
is to unlock the story of the sea.
What wisdom can be gained by the shifting tides?
ask the wise old Stone, as he looked over ages past
...

The sea bellows darkened Waves
Drowning in this sea of sin
Condemned to death by my waives
a battle fought, without end
...

All that glistens is not gold
but something more precious still
the love of God came in my heart
my Hungry soul to fill
...

As I walk threw the valley of the Shadow of Death
I am not afraid, I am not afraid
from Sadness to Joy,
he guides me all the way
...

Broken Staff

The sinner walks a Shadowed path
washed in tears of pain and hate
leaning on his broken staff
cursing God for his sorrowed fate

He watches as his dreams slip far beyond his grasp
crushed under his burdens, seeking to leave it behind
Yet still he walks the shadowed path
cold and alone, scarred and Blind

Never turning towards the golden way
never knowing what he'll find
always fearing what God would say
never knowing when he'll cross that final line

The Lord had forgotten him
and so to him he turned his back
the love that once shined
now shown dim and black

till one day he look upon his broke staff
the one that had held him up for so long
with tear filled eye, he let out a laugh
he look into the eye of his lord, Shining bold and Strong

He had never been forgotten
nor had he ever been alone
The Lord had been right there with him
thought the Darkness he had sown

Now he see the truth
that he had always know
forgiven of his scarlet sin
now he walks to his golden home
