How To Play A Poem

It’s definitely not a bass guitar,
And not a saxophone,
It can’t be hit like a set of drums,
Or slide like a trombone.
It doesn’t bong like bongos do,
And doesn’t go “toot, toot”,
It doesn’t ring like cymbals do,
And can’t sound like a flute.
You have to stroke it gracefully,
Even gentler than a harp,
It can’t have any flat notes,
And none that hit a sharp.
You don’t need metal, brass or wood,
It might even turn out horrific,
That’s if you make it difficult,
Maybe you should keep it simplistic.
So as you can see,
it doesn’t take long,
So that it’s realistic,
You can almost make it any way,
So that it is artistic.
