Gray Spectacles

In my bed. Midnight. Sound of Hell's angel
Breaks the silence of the night.
Footsteps. Door squeaks.
Peeking through open door. See man of steel.
Looks tired; with gray spectacles, hopeless eyes, and drooped back.

'Don't worry. I am fine.' Sorrow behind a grin.
See a child, lost its way to get back home.
Takes off his spectacles; weighed a ton.
As soon as he lies on the bed, falls into Great Blue Hole.
Leaving gray old spectacles on the table, all by itself.

Looking at him. Feel trapped and restricted. Tired.
Feel the responsibility he has for his loved one and daughters.
Who once was a boy who loved to play all- day long
With gray spectacles on.
Boy grew, but his spectacles is still the same.

Gray spectacles of a man of steel
Looks mighty as the 'S' on Superman's chest.
Look at this old spectacles. Can you see the story
of a responsible man with a wife and daughters?
Or do you see a mere young boy recalling his childhood?
