Ipshita Chaki Poems

Lessons to learn, words to speak

Enlightenment in thy abode I seek,
...

It rained from the earth and we waltzed on the sky,
No soul was coerced to bid life goodbye.
The Guns sprouted roses and thorns were all woolly-
Everybody loved the well-behaved 'bully'
...

In rehearsals she said, I cannot trust
But faith crept up
Through a daft corner.

Incarcerated!

Lessons to learn, words to speak

Enlightenment in thy abode I seek,

But why in my mundane earthly need-

My captive soul has to pay heed?

Regrets spill from my evening tea-

As I realise where I want to be,

I miss thy warmth, thy sun, thy river

And only in silence I saddle, I shiver!
