I found myself in a lemon tree
it grew so high in Lemonland
birds below
and birds above me
...
Cats are the happy creatures.
They care about nothing!
(Henry Walter Bates)
...
When I was a boy of seven,
I used to climb apple-trees.
When I was a lad of fifteen,
...
it's a such a long way –
other end of the earth
separation's inevitable
the distance is insuperable
...
The longer way
the harder coming back.
You've gone too far
and do you know the reason
...
Each time I hear the sound of a falling leaf
from the old chestnut-tree
in my backyard
I think neither of
...
you'll find no words
in the empty message I sent you
but you will know
i'm still alive and dying slowly
...
The woman of autumn is
Sweetness of apple with honey
And bitter of white chrysanthemum
...
The Lemon Tree
I found myself in a lemon tree
it grew so high in Lemonland
birds below
and birds above me
were my folks in faith.
And it was so amazing
to hang around with them
chat away to them and sing with them
the song of love and freedom
that sounded
so strange but familiar to me.
And it was so exiting
to climb the lemon-tree among the lemon stars
up and higher
and be so light as I had never been
and feel so free as I had never felt
within my busy mind
inside my human body
before.
