Ibrahim Adeyemi Poems

Who makes a wail in the forest?
He asks and runs to the west,
As the brown-headed cowbird slumps on nest,
Which scared the playing-birds and fly to the east
...

In the non-moon night,
where seems no light,
The firmament full of stars;
As the fireflies in the forest bar.
...

Am nervous to stay at the entrance,
to spy outside for once.
As the darkness full the earth
Like country where there is no wealth.

The Village Boy

Who makes a wail in the forest?
He asks and runs to the west,
As the brown-headed cowbird slumps on nest,
Which scared the playing-birds and fly to the east

He walks back lonely as a cloud,
As the warble of birds loud,
To feed the breeding-mammals in farm,
But horror plays with them; they were in calm.

He left the path of noisy forest
And walks wearily to the mountain 'o rest
'o receive the cold zephyr from the east
Peace when will you reign in the west? .
