Bondage

Hermit living in a cave;
Master Darkness' lonely slave.
Outside this cave, the sun shines bright;
Hermit blinded by the light.

Wounds so deep they never healed.
Scars and pain never revealed.
Numbness creeping over me;
In the dark, I cannot see.

In the dark all good things die;
For all the shadows do is lie.
The light of Truth I can not see;
And without light and love, what will I be?

Lonely Hermit, all alone-
Heart as cold as marbled stone.
Chains of bondage; can't break free-
The Hell of my own slavery.

Is the Sun, so bright and strong-
To melt the chains locked for so long?
Or will it merely singe the Soul-
And open wounds from long ago?

The time has come to take a chance.
The Hermit moves to take a stance.
Moving closer to the Light;
Every step a painful plight.

The old decrepit bonds are stressed.
They weaken more; as on, the Hermit pressed-
And when the light was finally reached;
The last steel bond was also breached.

Free to step into the Sun-
Trepidation hasn't won.
Healing light from Spirit Rains
To heal the Wounds &Scars & Pains.

So long numb; Pain now intense.
All emotions have a consequence.
Sometimes to feel is far more Brave-
Than staying numb and hidden; in a cave.
