Winter approaches
A cold time

Feels the change in season
Nutrients retract
The end begins
Separation is near

Dressed in funereal finery
Reds, Oranges, Yellows, Browns

The pallbearer gusts
The leaf lets go its tenuous hold
Slowly floats down to its final
Resting place
