How sweet is the bond of friendship?

A Friend

I always had a friend
Who for me set all the trends.
Who when saw on my head a crown,
She would smile instead of frown.
To me she would never allow to cry,
And to make me smile she would always try.
She is like for me my best mate,
For her I’ll always thank my fate.
To no one she would allow me to blame,
For everyone her own she claimed.
For my happiness she always prayed,
And for me ideals she always laid.
She is one by whom calm I was made,
Or my anger would have never fade.
At the end for her I would love to die,
And I wish I should never tell her BYE.
