Our destiny is in our own hands some have been known to say
But circumstance in all of that must have some part to play
If you are born on no hope street and homeless in your youth
To you our destiny is in our own hands does not have a ring of truth.

All through your great life journey you follow your destiny
And where you are living at today is where you are meant to be
And whether you live in your Hometown or from there live far away
It all goes back to destiny where you are at today

Though many may see it in a different way
'Tis destiny in our lives that does have the say
Our life journey our journey to destiny
To fame and to riches and to poverty.

On the family we were born into and where we were raised in we did not have a say
And if from where you were raised in you now live far away
This is part of your destiny since destiny in your life has a huge part to play
Your life journey has led you to where you live at today
...

Though i have worked in pipelines crews in Ballarat
I cannot say i have been there and done that
A story of my life will never be published to sell
There are many with far greater life stories to tell
...

The clock of time on our lives ticking on fast
And to reach the present we have come from the past
We must die like the sheep or the dog or the cow
And the future ahead and we live in the now
...

Some say how we fare in life that we do have the choice
We can reap the reward for hard work or for failure pay the price
But they overlook the thing called destiny
And that does seem their error of judgement to me
...

Our date with our destiny awaits one and all
To the scythe of the reaper we eventually must fall
He is not one who respects power, wealth or fame
The pauper and monarch he treats as the same
...

I feel like a windblown feather in my life I have no say
Where I come from and where I go to destiny decide the way
What will happen come tomorrow what will the future hold for me?
Leave all that to fate and fortune and the thing called destiny.
