Our Date With Our Destiny Poem by Francis Duggan

Our Date With Our Destiny

Our date with our destiny awaits one and all
To the scythe of the reaper we eventually must fall
He is not one who respects power, wealth or fame
The pauper and monarch he treats as the same
A true egalatarian is that not a good thing?
Yet the praises of the Reaper few bother to sing
A true egalatarian is the one we all fear
Though good things about him we never do hear
He treats all as equal never differentiate
Yet he is one we never do celebrate
He treats those who possess great riches and power
As much as he respects a weed or a flower
The paupers and high achievers of the town
With his mighty scythe he mows them all down.
