Desert Lessons

If you think that you're important, spend a night in the desert alone.
Learn the quiet lessons taught by sand and scrub, and stone.
Raise your hand unto the sky and touch a nearby star.
As long as your reach is, that's how important you are.
The coyotes howl with laughter at all your precious plans,
for you're in an infinite universe and you are only a man.
A night alone in the desert will open up your eyes and give you new perception about you proper size.
So, when you think that you're important spend your night in the desert alone, then bac k to the place called home and see how much you've grown.
