The Angels Must Have Wondered

THE ANGELS MUST HAVE WONDERED
The angels must have wondered, as the demons smiled
When God placed all man's hopes in a little child
Knowing with Satan's powers
He'd pick the place and hour
But no one could understand the glory of God's plan

The angels must have wondered, watching the demons gloat
When Jesus picked the twelve and one gave Satan hope
Cause Judas was the type
Who could carry out a lie
But no one could understand the glory of God's plan

The angels must have wondered as the demons watched with glee
When Judas and the soldiers came to Gethsemane
The Pharisees would do their part
The treachery was soon to start
But no one could understand the glory of God's plan

The angels must have wondered as the demons lost their smiles
When for 3 long hours the sun refused to shine
With the splitting of the curtain
They knew nothing now was certain
Still no one could understand the glory of God's plan

Then the angels stared in wonder, the demons in dismay
When after the third day the stone was rolled away
They knew with His last breath
Our Lord defeated death
Then they all understood, the glory of God's plan

Then the angels sang out in one voice
As all creation rejoiced
Singing "Holy, holy, holy is the lamb"
Who arose
