Daniel Barr Poems

I hear the dogs barking, the urgent barking I hear,
That of daschunds coaxing gruffly,
trying to warn us of what is near,
The Dobermans barking in an aggressive way,
...

Once I sat in a class of bore,
Snoring more as we deplored,
Just waiting, waiting to walk out the door,
Wanting lunch and nothing more.
...

Can't you see
I lose my power
When I become the enemy
Yeah, to an enemy
...

Intertwined in sound and silence- emotion
For the love of a gift- a waiting rose
Two hearts bound together- striving as one
For the love that trust can make spark- within
...

Hidden within the walls of crowded halls
There lies a memory and many more.
Through time the crowd gathers for its last
And, clinging to memoirs of the past,

I Hear The Dogs Barking ≪1-4-94≫

I hear the dogs barking, the urgent barking I hear,
That of daschunds coaxing gruffly,
trying to warn us of what is near,
The Dobermans barking in an aggressive way,
those 'sadists' driving the bad ones away,
The setters barking of what they fear,
for they know not the mind that approaches them,
Golden retrievers, the innocent ones,
barking not of mind but more of fun,
Collies barking their life away,
hoping the she-dogs will notice them,
Mutts barking for concern of their guardian,
they want to know when their next meal is coming,
Bulldogs barking lazily,
with a plastered face that scares the 'blind, '
Rottweilers barking, bullying the meek,
yet protecting us from danger as it comes,
The german shepherd barks his dish toward my feet,
perhaps asking for something to eat..
And yet still I have no idea what they're talking about!
