Belonging

I thought I belong
To the heaven like cradle
With soft clothes
That became wet
Again and again
Twenty six years ago...
But they took me out
May be to show
Chairs, Sofas, Desks, Tables
Moving vehicles...
I almost forgot the cradle
And my Birth.

I thought I belong
To that tile House,
Painted well by my father
Built by his father,
Who struggled all his life
To pay the debts...
But they sent me out
To school, to temple
To shops, to companies
To which obviously
I couldn't belong.

I thought I belong
To myself,
Whom I knew
Better than anyone else
Better than anything else,
But they made me
To know them, know you
Know us...
Inextricable knots of
Relationships...

I felt I belong
To poems, to dreams
To books, to solitude...
But they sold me out
To machines, to money
To cities, to development
To what they call Life,
That buys everything
For someone's Happiness.

I decided
That I don't belong.
But they rushed in
Chanted Mantras
Poured chilled water
Cleaned me up and
Burnt me to ashes
Without missing even
A Single Kriya,
As a last attempt
To prove me wrong,
To make me
Belong.
