Moon Wanderer

The pale hole in heavens floor,
framed by skeletal branches,
lights a hillside path,
for the wanderers of
forests and fields.

Teeth glisten,
eyes glimmer,
in the icy light.
Ears listen intently,
searching for prey.

Gray fur rustles
in the wind,
which moans along,
to the wolfs song.
She slinks
through the night,
Knife-sharp claws,
shine.

Prowling the streets,
dancing with shadows,
through an icy world,
under the moon.
