Texas, My Dream

Our nation could not stand
or be as proud or great,
To share the glory of victory
without the Lone Star State.

Texas may have many things
from trees to rolling plains,
Including deserts and mountains
and some unexplored terrains.

I'm aware of its many riches
from cattle to black gold,
With cowboys tall in courage
boasting of tales so bold

Your state, considered the greatest
and perhaps will always be,
But what's missing in Texas
is the total presence of me.
