I stand in the room looking down on you
My hands dance on my back
Muscled and warm
From the cozy living room
...

The loudest mosquito I have ever heard
Buzzes in my ear
And before it ceases
It Reveals its true identity as the

They say to me
“sit up and fly right”
I tell them that I am not a pilot
Nor a pidgeon
...

Mommy, when you laugh
everything seems okay
I want to hug you close enough
to smell your smell of rosy flesh
...

You ignored me
And I know it was on purpose
My eyes they narrow as I think
Of all the things you’ve done to me

The Best Poem Of Burkina Faso

I Love You

I stand in the room looking down on you
My hands dance on my back
Muscled and warm
From the cozy living room
Snuggled on the couch watching the soft twinkles
On our mini faux Christmas tree

In here the room is cold
And still
except when I move
To brush my hair behind my ear
Or strain to listen to you sleep
Your purring noises

I grab the icy bedpost
And slowly lower myself to the bed
To sit beside you
My knees crack
The bed creaks
and your snoring stops

Those sleepy eyes find me and I smile
I hug you and kiss your face
You tell me to brush my teeth soon
And I kiss you again

I get up to leave and
Bump
My shoulder on the bedpost
It really hurts
But I don’t care

As I leave you coo
Nice little girl
I watch the floor as I walk out
And I whisper
Those words i say so often
Those ones you never say
I Love you
