Brendan Duffy Poems

It's late at night
I'm watching you sleep again
A chill crosses your skin
I see your brow change in the light
...

A cold winter's night sets the scene
Freezing outside, warm and cosy inside
Relaxing on the big leather couch
With nothing in between
...

He waits patiently in the storm
Rain pouring down his face
He longs to be warm
Within her beauty and grace
...

When the lonely day sets
She is smiling bright
The day is done
She can enjoy the night.
...

It started with the touch of your smile
I fought back my feelings for awhile
Time passed on in my secret chamber
The truth - I've fallen in love with my next-door neighbor
...

The dew in the air
Mother Earths tears settle
Her breath whistling soft with care
She lies in the grass by the cliff
...

Shy glances from across the class
I catch you stare, you look away quickly
I smile at your sudden movement
Red with embarrassment your skin goes prickly
...

Angel at my side
Sleeps so calm and gentle
Her soft breathing
Flickers the nearby candle
...

Jupiter Moon

It's late at night
I'm watching you sleep again
A chill crosses your skin
I see your brow change in the light
Confused and dazed
Strange and phased

You know I'm here looking at you
That familiar sense of comfort
You relax down without effort
Chilled by the September air for only a few
You move with a groan
'I'm glad your home'

I wake to the sound of the wind in the trees
More a gust than a strong breeze
Jupiter Moon shining down on me
It's subtle light shows me the way
A picture of how it used to be
You're gone, a year this day
