Blake Patrick Carter Poems

Entrust yourself.
Only you will guide.
Into fears,
memories,
...

You expeditious soul,
-Oh-, I can juncture,
what the world never saw.
Pick these bones,
...

Riddle me this:
No, yea, okay?
You riddle everyday.
...

A bracing Pinnacle;
giving all, -yet none by stalling-
One Sinew shall uphold:
prevent this tree from ever falling,
...

If monsoon eyes revealed,
the secrets in this chest;
even Apathy would lend a shoulder.
Unseen, much better than the rest.

Requiem

Entrust yourself.
Only you will guide.
Into fears,
memories,
forsaken by years.

Embrace yourself.
Love, which is demanded.
It derives from you.
Showing everything anew.

Or you will fade,
like thousands more,
far out of view.

Or you will lose,
like thousands more,
the twinkle in those eyes.

Secondhand birth,
concurring with none,
offers another chance.
Take it, or you're done.

You will dance,
-like no other,
with vibrance, like the sun.

You will gain,
which most have lost,
that twinkle in those eyes.

Regrow the joy for which is yearned.
Replenish that which is lost.
Rejuvenate those eyes.
Yet not for me.
Make it a surprise.
