Biajy Mohanty Poems

The prone body,
A tangled mass of desire, lay panting
bundled in flesh and betrayal.
...

It engulfs you like a mist
Seeping through
To your essence
...

Why now?

After all these ages of
Reluctant trudging
...

Once
There was a little star
In her splendid isolation
In the abyss of space-time
...

I have a secret.

I have kept a bejeweled box in
Someone's memory palace...
...

The pot waits on the simmering amber
Night slithers through the fingers of the autumn trees
A dead moon looks down choking
on the toxic emotions.
...

Heaven pours molten gold
into earth’s womb.
Men’s ambition whistles away
On the hazy railway bridge
...

Waking up is always difficult.
It means leaving the
Comfort of the dark
Blanket.

The Best Poem Of Biajy Mohanty

Adultery

The prone body,
A tangled mass of desire, lay panting
bundled in flesh and betrayal.

I lurked greedy
At the end of a crime and
At the threshold of another…..
Jagged ends of moments past
drawing crimson pain.

How long can the body resist
The temptations of unfettered freedom,
the selfish pleasures of numb senses,
the wiles of a manipulating self?

I succumb
At the altar of the dark angels
To the hydra-headed goddess of pleasure
But not before
paying homage to the lost soul
of broken innocence
at the shrine of my entombed love.
