Back from the deadness of feeling
Back from the disease that was not healing.
Back from the darkness held dear
Back from the life of pain and fear.
Back from the loneliness despite a crowd
Back from the tears of a lonely cloud.
Back from the rain that felt so cold
Back from the nightmares untold.
Back from the sadness of the mind
Back from the peace that I could never find.
Back at last to find in a dream
Beauteous things unexpected, unseen.

Back to the time that was held in time
Back to the songs with a better rhyme.
Back to the words that will not cause pain
Back to the beauty of the torrential rain.
Back to the light that was left behind
Back to the hope that is very kind.
Back to the blue clouds in the sky
Back to the belief that I can fly.
Back to the shores of an ocean on land
