This air is hot and wet. It's heavy!
I'm finding it hard to breathe this
Hot, sulphur-smelling humidity.
I tell my lungs to slowdown the breathing.

They are dead!
So many of my own cherished,
Familial souls, indeed, a part, if not all of me.

Since my Mama passed away
I sit here thinking of her
And why I wanted her to stay
